Before the Denver Gem Show 2021, a friend told me to look for PETOSKEY STONES. They were found in the fossil section of the show because they are fossilized coral—and I don't usually shop in this area. Petoskey has distinctive patterns that look prehistoric. When they are polished, they come alive.
What caused me to fall in love with Petoskey is that they encourage creativity while activating the Third Eye and Crown Chakras --the area of healing and magic where I am currently focusing. If your Third Eye is not open you cannot see clearly. If your Crown Chakra is closed you cannot receive cosmic and universal energies.
Petoskey stones are ancient --petrified coral. Through them, we can better recognize and acknowledge our emotions. Learning to love ourselves is a very important step to personal transformation. Petroskey helps us develop our intuitive abilities. This is a good stone to help anyone with their creative side to bring abundance to projects.
The Petoskey Stone first originated in the Michigan area during the Devonian Era of Prehistoric times. Well before dinosaurs walked the Earth, Michigan was located close to the equator and enjoyed a tropical climate. A shallow, warm saltwater ocean covered this area and was home to various marine life. One of the most common forms of sea life during this time was coral polyps. Gradually the Earth’s tectonic plates shifted enough to move the Michigan area north towards the 45th parallel. During this time, roughly two million years ago, as the plates shifted ancient glaciers were scraped during this process and left fossils across the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, with a major concentration of these fossils being left behind in modern-day Petoskey, Michigan. These prehistoric fossils are now best known as the Petoskey Stone and are currently Michigan’s state stone.
These come from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
Traditional healing folklore and crystal healing lore purport that Petoskey Stone is helpful for healing AIDS, Cancer, CFS, eyes, head, infections, infectious disease, lungs, skeletal system, and tumors of all kinds.
